The Charlottesville Waldorf School Holiday Bazaar is an annual event treasured by our school community and the many vendors, performers, and visitors who take part each year. We look forward to welcoming you to our school!
Join us for family fun on our campus at CWS! There will be shopping from a wonderful selection of handmade and gift vendors, activities for children and adults (Make a jumprope! Dip a beeswax candle! Create your own Holiday wreath! and more!), storytelling, a holiday sing-a-long, and more! Admission is free, activity tickets are available on-site. Credit cards are accepted. No pets, please.

| Bee The Light | After Jessa and I got married, we knew we wanted to do something to help support ourselves and our community that was wholesome for everyone involved – from the raw materials all the way to the folks who end up with the product. Before I met Jessa I lived for a time in an off-the-grid-in-the-city hospitality house called “The Downstream Project.” There was no electrical lighting in the house, so every night we lit up the beeswax candles, not just for fun or ambiance! It was a powerful and inspiring season of my life, and later, when Jessa and I were thinking of things we could do that met our list of criteria, beeswax candles came to mind. | Edelweiss Illustration | Edelweiss Illustration creates fantasy out of reality. The series presents regional animals drawn naturalistically but with anthropomorphic accoutrements and sometimes set in real, usually local, landscapes. The body of work combines graphite, ink, wash, and photomanipulation to showcase the sustainable interaction of nature, art, and technology. The end results are illustrations from stories not yet written. | Guido’s Heart | In July of 2022, Sandra Sohne-Johnston traveled to her home in Accra, Ghana to celebrate a number of family milestones. Her cousin gave her a Bolga basket as a gift. Following a series of conversations with weaver and designer Akolbila Richmond in his streetside shop, she learned how difficult it was for him to make ends meet. Recognizing his talent and drive, Sandra pledged to help him generate additional income by selling fifteen baskets to friends and family. Within days of advertising his products on her social media platforms, she received orders for close to 42 traditional Bolga Market Baskets and 5 laundry baskets. In the span of just three weeks, Akolbila earned more money than the average Ghanaian earns in a six-month period and generated enough work to employ approximately 20 weavers. In an effort to increase the visibility of his products and expand his market, Sandra founded Guido’s Heart. Her vision is to connect exceptional Ghanaian artisans like Akolbila Richmond with customers around the world who value high-quality, sustainable, handmade, and fair trade goods. She named her business after her older brother, Guido who was an African software developer and proponent of open-source, co-founder of FOSSFA, the Free and Open Source Software Foundation for Africa, and Platform Strategy Manager for Microsoft until his death in 2008. He was an innovator who wanted to cultivate and nurture native talent. We are equally committed to nurturing and elevating the work of everyday Ghanaians. | Lille Wonder | I used to work from home as Executive assistant for operation & customer service department. Work schedule there everyone need to rotate schedule every 2 to 3 months and some time I have to work at night and with two small kids on my own was really tough. With my health concern, I decided to quite the job and started a small business for Lille Wonder that I am promoting on eco-friendly and reusable toys that safe to all children and all customer helps safe our planet. Valentina (Sunflower class) and Veronica (Marigold class) have been helping me select for the fun toys and testing all of them before I put on our store. They are really helpful and have fun playing and learning at the same time. Every item selected and sell on Lille Wonder online store are well made and quality. I am also started to make my own handmade products such as handmade dolls and nontoxic play dough. I am currently don’t have actual store front but I use online as my store front right now.
